Wow- didn't realize it had been so long since I posted here. A lot's been going on lately. Fantasies has been on sale for a while now, and I've got a new Yahoo group- click the icon to join :)

Lots of great news to report!!!! The past few days have been really good for me. First of all, Fantasies: New Year's Eve released this weekend. Woohoo!

Secondly, I finally got a start on the as yet untitled Bat-boy sequel! I'm over a third of the way into the book and hope to have it released in late April. More to come on that.

Lastly, my brand-new bookmarks came today! They look absolutely fabulous. Can't wait to start sending them out... So, to celebrate, eye candy for everyone!

Okay, I know I haven't posted here in a while, but things have been CRAZY! It looks like Fantasies will be out Saturday, so that's good news. Also, I ordered my bookmarks, which should arrive around February 1st. I'm hoping to have a Bat-boy sequel out in late April, but we'll see about that...And I'll definitely have the Fantasies sequel ready for a late June release.

I'm all over the place, what with the day job & all, so I probably won't be posting here much. It's hard to keep up w/everything that needs doing!

Lots of news to impart!

One, I've got bookmarks! See the first draft at my site (www.cassandragold.com/bookmark).

Two, I've got a possible release date for Fantasies! It's coming either 1/27 or 2/10. We're shooting for 1/27. I'll post the cover here as soon as I get it.

Three, I've gotten the Fantasies sequel well underway, and that one should be coming in late June. Woo-hoo! I'm hoping to finish the Bat-boy sequel (yes, I know, I was supposed to have that one done ages ago!) by the end of February. Darned author ADD!

Well, right now I'm working on the next in my Fantasies series for Silk's Vault. I've been doing a lot of reading lately, but not too much writing. Guess I need a little vacation. I'm getting occasional inspiration, but for the most part I've been on hiatus. The day job has been pretty stressful--seems like I have a meeting every single afternoon, and there's a ton of paperwork right now. :( Looking forward to the 3-day weekend that's coming up in a few.

I'm at a chat on Literary Nymphs right now, and a little while ago TA Chase just told me he read Bat-boy and enjoyed it! *Squee!* I'm a total fangirl, but it's so awesome to have an author I like to read say they actually read my book. Woo-hoo! You can't see me, but I am SO smiling right now! :)

Tomorrow I get to go back to the day job. :( Oh well, had to happen. I'll be glad to be there once I'm there, I'm sure. I think having something to keep me busy all day might actually help me write, because my days will be structured again. I haven't gotten a whole lot done, writing-wise, in the last few days (New Year's festivities and all that), but at least I think I'm past my writer's block. I'm getting ideas again--always a good thing! I'm looking forward to getting some more work done.

In other news, Bat-boy is still on the Silk's Vault top 10 list! Yay! I needed a bit of good news.

Grrrr!!!! Frustration! I've got some serious writer's block going on right now. Rather than staring at my current WIPs in annoyance, I started a new one, a futuristic. It's flowing pretty well so far. I hope to keep it under 30k. Maybe if I can get something (anything!) done, my writer's block will ease up a bit. I have way too many projects going, but it's hard not to when all these different ideas keep popping up in my head. At least I have Scott Speedman to look at. *Sigh*

In other (still frustrating) news, I don't have a release date for Fantasies. Oh, and I haven't heard about my vamp/slayer story either. Argh!

Okay, haven't posted here in a while. There's a good reason for that--I have nothing to report! Still no release date on Fantasies, still waiting to hear on my vamp/slayer book. It could be 5-7 more weeks :( before I hear about that one. Still working on WIPs (Bat-boy sequel, Marine story, and now a new one about a cop). Same old stuff, different day as my brother would say. I've got to do holiday togetherness w/my family and the in-laws today, but tomorrow I hope to get some real work done on the WIPs. I've got a break from the day job, so maybe I'll actually get something finished...Until then, Happy Holidays everyone!

Okay, right now I am very frustrated! I am deep into the 2nd round of edits on my vamp/slayer story and I have title block. (Like writer's block, only with titles). I plan to send it off next week, so I really need a title. Grrrr! I guess I'll think of something on the fly and hope it isn't stupid. If there's one thing I hate about being an author, it's thinking up titles. I don't know why I have such a hard time with it...Either I come up with a great title instantly or I don't. Maybe these hot guys (another Myspace find!) will help me. ;)

In other news, still waiting on the release day for Fantasies: New Year's Eve. Also still working on my Marine WIP and the Bat-boy sequel, although that one's not coming as quickly as I'd like.

Well, it looks like my New Year's story is going to be published by Silk's Vault, but no word on a release date yet. (Hopefully January!)

This weekend I plan to dive into the 2nd round of edits on the vamp/slayer story and (hopefully) come up with a title. I want to get it sent into a publisher by next week. My Marine WIP is coming along slowly, w/about 6,000 words to date. I've been spending a lot of time doing other things lately & giving myself a bit of a break from the writing, but I still hope to have the Bat-boy sequel done by December 31. Winter break from the day job should help me finish.

My eye candy of the day is Jake Gyllenhaal. He was brought up on one of my Yahoo groups last night & that got me wanting to post a pic of him :)

Finally got a chance to catch up on a bit of reading this weekend. I read some really good books, including Oleander House by Ally Blue and Without Reservations by JL Langley. Both were very good! Right now I've started on Must Love Dragons by Stephanie Rowe. Funny stuff.

My own writing is coming along slowly. I worked a bit on the Bat-boy sequel this weekend, as well as a bit on my Marine story. In a few days I'll do the first edits on the vamp/slayer story and try to submit it. More info on that when I have some!

Well, I've finally begun the Bat-boy sequel. Inspiration struck at last! I've got plot outlines for a series of Bat-boy stories (5 total), which I hope to complete by next October. Sort of a full-circle kind of thing. I've shelved my other WIPs temporarily so I can concentrate on this one as well as the edits on my vamp/slayer book. I hope to submit it to publishers w/in the next couple of weeks.

The last couple of days have been snow days from the day job, since we got 6 inches or so of snow/ice over the last couple of days. It was great not going to work & getting to whip up a little holiday story, but I didn't enjoy spending 2 hours helping the hubby shovel the driveway this morning! Ugh. Midwestern weather is so weird, considering it was 70 degrees on Wednesday.

After writing about 17,000 words in the last few days (and getting very little sleep!) I finally finished my vamp/slayer WIP! It came in at 51,000 words exactly. I am exhausted, but maybe now I'll be able to sleep w/out thinking about my characters. It needs a title and some editing, but I'm going to leave it alone for a while before I worry about that.

It's a major relief to be done. I have 2 other WIPs that I'll start working on again now that I'm done with this one, but I think I'll take a few days' vacation first. Too bad I don't get some more vacation from the day job. My so-called vacation was almost all spent writing!

In the meantime, just felt like posting a pic of Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars. I'm really into their music right now, and I just like looking at him. ;)

Well, it's feast or famine around here. My 30,000+ word WIP is on a short hiatus while I await some more inspiration (darn muse!). I've been adding a bit to my oldest existing WIP, but it's slow going. Of course the ADD has struck again (GRRR!) and I have added another story to my plate, this one about a Marine and the best friend he stopped talking to over a decade ago. Is there anything more yummy than a man in uniform? I hope to return to my vamp/slayer book over Thanksgiving break.

As for the chats I spoke of in my last post, I won an ebook and a tote bag at the Manlove chat. That was fun! I got to give away several copies of Bat-boy at the Ebook Readers Apprec. chat. I really enjoyed chatting w/everyone and giving stuff away. It really is better to give than to receive sometimes. :)

Yikes! My latest WIP is really kicking my butt. I'm up to 29,600 words now and I just can't seem to stop writing! I'm not getting anything done around the house, but luckily the hubby isn't a stickler for housekeeping. I also just submitted a New Year's story, so I will have to wait and see if anything comes of that. This week is going to be crazy, what with the Ebook Reader Apprec. Day on the Story Board Thursday and other various chats & events. Good thing Thanksgiving is coming up and I'll get a few days off the day job. I'm going to need them!

WIPs are going well so far, except for the thus-far neglected Bat-boy sequel. I got some good work done on my 2nd New Year's WIP tonight, so I've got about 4500 words now. My other New Year's story is sitting on the shelf for a bit until I can go back and look at it w/new eyes. Probably a week or so. I've shelved the Slayer/Vamp story for now too, but I hope to get back to that this weekend...We'll see as it's stacking up to be a busy one so far.

The crazy book-release weekend is finally over. I spent a lot of time online chatting, promoting, & myspace-ing. It was fun, but I am exhausted. Gotta get some sleep! I finished one of my WIPs last night. It needs some editing & revising, then I'll send it in...I'm not sure if Silk's will want it or if I'll end up going w/my original plan and submitting it to an e-zine.

I hope I can get that much done every night! (Yeah, right!)

I'm published! Bat-boy and the Wolfman is officially on sale now! I got my copies of it and it was so exciting. I don't know if anything else I get published will make me feel this good, but right now I can barely sit still. Now I just hope people buy it...

Also, I am beginning a Bat-boy sequel. I hope to complete it w/in a couple of months (author ADD strikes again!)

Ugh! This has been a crazy week what with my day job and rushing the edits for my story to be published this weekend! I can't believe that it's almost October 28th already. I'm trying to start on the sequel to "Bat-boy" as well as working on several other works-in-progress. My authorial ADD strikes again--I just can't seem to stick to one thing at a time. I'll try to get some excerpts and stuff posted on my main site this weekend sometime, now that things are calmer!

I've been writing like crazy this weekend! I'm having a bit of authorial ADD, so I keep jumping from story to story. I've got three works in progress right now. Two are New Year's stories, one of which I intend to submit to an online magazine. It will probably be about 9,000 words when it's finished (I've got about 7,500 now). The other New Year's story is shaping up to be considerably longer. I've only got about 2,600 words right now but it's all backstory, with more backstory yet to come. I'm going to shoot for 20-30,000 words on this one. We'll see how long it ends up being. The last story I'm working on (and which I spent a lot of my weekend on!), is about a vampire who was once captured and tortured by Slayers. He ends up being given a "gift" of a blood slave that turns out to be the only Slayer that actually helped him. This one's practically flying out of my head and onto the screen, so I'm anticipating that it'll be long! Maybe I'll get a full-length novel out of this one...

I just got the email from my editor, and we'll be doing the first round of edits in the next few days. My publication date for "Bat-boy and the Wolfman" is almost here--October 28 is just over a week away! I'm getting really excited now, especially since my cover is up. I absolutely love the cover! The guys on the front look a lot like I envisioned when I was writing the story.

I've also been working on some other stories lately. I hope to submit one to an ezine at the beginning of November. I'll post an excerpt on my website at www.cassandragold.com
